Saturday night binging and chilling is probably this generation’s favorite thing to do. In fact, the party animals are locked inside their homes because of this pandemic situation. If you are bored at home, probably spending your weekends being a couch potato stuffing your faces with popcorn and beer this is the perfect blog for you. Here we are bringing you the best Leonardo DiCaprio movies that you should watch to make your weekends more fun. He knows how to pick great movies. His unconventional choice of movies has always ended up being one of the best movies of that respective year. One of the most talented actors working in Hollywood, who also won Oscar for best actor in a leading role for his performance in survival epic The Revenant. No doubt it is very tough to narrow it down in such a shortlist. So here we go:

1.Titanic (1997)

Titanic is so iconic that I had to keep it on the top. I know you all have probably watched it already for a million times but it never gets old, right? I mean I still find couples spreading their arms and living their titanic moment. The movie pretty much dominated our conversations back in the days. In fact, I remember when I watched this movie, I was not even a teen, but I and my friend went crazy over that heart-throbbing face of Leo. You know the story. A poor, handsome man meets a rich woman on the titanic. They fell for each other, made love, and the very day the ship hit an iceberg. Titanic shank the poor man shaves his lady love and he freezes to death, holding a floating boat. A great movie that has stood the test of time.

2.Inception (2010)

Christopher Nolan’s dream project, inception is the greatest movie Leonardo DiCaprio has been in. The creative plot with lots of twists and turns, the incredible concept, the perfect star cast, and the ending, oh, the ending will sweep you off your feet. The movie goes by touching the action genre but that is both incredibly intelligent and thrilling.  Somebody tells you they had a dream within a dream and you will think of inception. The science-fiction storyline features Leo as a thief who steals information from his targets but entering into their dreams. I would love to get my data stolen if Leonardo DiCaprio enters my dream to steal it.

3.The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013)

The Wolf of Wall Street is one of the best movies that Leo has worked on with Martin Scorsese, and probably the easiest. He plays Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker based on a real one that made his fortune off of penny shares. To be honest, this is one more biopic from Leonardo and Scorsese, but not like the Aviator where Leo played Howard Hughes that passed off within the 20s-40s. This movie took place in 1980, having all the extra sleazy from the last decade. He was born to play the part of a smarmy Wall Street guy with is slick back hair and that charming looks in his eyes. The other star-cast features Jonah hill with his possibly best performance of his career as Belfort’s sleazy business partner, a small appearance of Matthew McConaughey pounding his chest and humming a not-so-good-to-listen-to song, and Margot Robbie as the beautiful trophy wife. It’s like Wall Street by Oliver Stone, but on steroids.

4.The Departed (2006)

This film is so good that even mark Wahlberg got nominated for Oscar for the best supporting actor. The Departed was a critical and commercial success that won Oscars for best picture, best director, and best adapted screenplay. This is a crime drama, with a nail-biting storyline. Leo plays an undercover cop who infiltrates a crime ring run by Nicholson. Wait. Read it again. That sentence right there should be all I need to say to make you watch this movie. But, another thing about the movie is you don’t really understand where the movie is heading until the bittersweet end.

5.The Revenant (2015)

The revenant is the movie that will likely go down as the movie where Leonardo DiCaprio gets mauled by a bear, also starring tom hardy in one of the scariest roles ever. This is the movie that finally got Leonardo DiCaprio the Oscar, after six nominations for the best actor in a leading role.  A part action, part adventure, and an all amazing film, DiCaprio plays a frontiersman Hugh Glass, who is on the hunt for the man who killed his Native American son. Followed by a harrowing journey into the Dakotas and he survives with his skills and takes revenge finally. The last confrontation where Leo uses Dohmnall Gleeson’s corpse as a decoy… actually, it does not get much better than that.

6.Once upon a time… in Hollywood(2019)

Once upon a time… in Hollywood is a peak Leonardo DiCaprio, peak Tarantino, and peak brad Pitt, too! Leo plays as a former tv western star, Rick Delton, who tries to get into movies but fails. There is a scene where Dalton freaks out in audition and he becomes purple with rage after messing up his lines, would you believe this scene was improvised? It portrays the bygone era of Hollywood that is even more impressive because of its attention to small details. The movie is so funny and efficiently done that it all comes down to the most enjoyable DiCaprio movie till date.

7.Shutter Island (2010)

Sutter Island is another Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese film that made the audience glued to their seats. A psychological thriller with a surprise ending and twist meisters like M. Night Shyamalan seems to have forgotten. By the time Shutter Island gets to its twist, you are already invested into the characters and no matter how it takes a turn you are going to walk home happy. Leonardo DiCaprio plays a US Marshal, sent to investigate an escape route at a mental facility on a remote island. An insane security asylum where the country’s most dangerous, violent, and hopeless cases are sent. Sutter Island is full of subtle touches of hints which point to something else and they linger around in your subconsciousness until you need them and it all fits into one, unexpected, whole.
