Many people have asked me, “What inspired you to write Astro… what is it about?” Music is an art form that means one thing to me but many different things to other people. It was about knowing I was on an astronaut’s mission, but I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I’d like to be in space. I wanted to do what astronauts do. Me saying I’m in the ocean meant I felt like I was somewhere I didn’t belong. But I knew I was on my way to finding myself as an artist and getting the recognition I wanted for my music. Also, “whatchu know about rolling down in the deep” meant what do you know about being down in life and depressed. I was saying, have you been in the rough and the trenches. The year 2021 is going to be much better for peace.
